We are currently looking for a Cost Accountant for our LED Chips group.
SUMMARY:
In this position you will perform all costing activities associated with all OPTO locations; Durham, GSB, and CHSSL. This includes the associated reporting responsibilities and established client service protocols.
You will Maintain LED Chip business unit cost reporting files including assurance of FIFO rules, cost reasonableness checks, allocation factors and new product additions. You will prepare journal entries to record inventory valuation changes.
In this role you will reconcile LED Chip business unit inventory subledger to Balance Sheet and Income Statement and support the Cost Manager/Business Unit Controller with explanations of cost variations to history and budget.
You will advise the General Manager of LED Chip operations of the cost impact of operational activities including process changes, volume fluctuations, and yield swings.
You will conduct reviews of LED Chip WIP and FG inventory for obsolescence including preparation of reserve files, review with Purchasing, Operations, and Sales, recording of reserve valuation changes via journal entry, reconciliation to general ledger and communication of reserve value changes to management. You will provide management with data, analysis and recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
In this position you will collaborate with Operations and IT to ensure accurate reporting and work with other team members and groups to gain efficiencies and implement process improvements. You may be asked to complete other projects / duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting

5 years experience in Accounting & Finance roles

3 years experience with Cost Accounting

Access and Advanced Microsoft Excel

Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Strong analytical and organizational skills
