JOB DESCRIPTION

Process Development Engineer will be member of a team tasked with developing new LED device designs and fabrication processes, as well as new LED packages in a R&D environment.

 

SUMMARY:

Process Development Engineer will be member of a team tasked with developing new LED device designs and fabrication processes, as well as new LED packages in a R&D environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute to the development of novel LED chip designs for solid-state lighting applications.

• Develop and perform novel semiconductor fabrication processes necessary for realization and performance verification of novel chip designs, with guidance from senior scientists/engineers.

• Develop new packaging schemes, with guidance from senior scientists/engineers.

• Perform device characterization, reliability tests and failure mode analysis.

• Analyze, document and summarize results.

• Interact with outside vendors as needed to support process development.

• Travel to manufacturing plant in North Carolina as needed to assist process transfers.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials, Physics, or equivalent.

• 1 year semiconductor cleanroom processing experience.

• Strong computer skills; comfortable working with MS Office software applications.

• Strong motivation and drive for project closure - "Do it!" attitude.

• Committed to doing whatever it takes to meet deadlines and get the job done.

• Must be detail oriented, and able to document experimental procedures and results

• Good written and oral communication skills.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials, Physics, or equivalent.

• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor devices

• 2+ years of semiconductor cleanroom process development experience.

• Solid understanding of cleanroom fabrication processes and equipment.

• Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g. JMP).

• Ability to clearly and concisely analyze and present experimental data.

• Ability to work well in diverse team environment.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
